Potential Efficiency of Wild Plant Species (Pluchea dioscoridis (L.) DC.) for Phytoremediation of Trace Elements on Contaminated Locations

چکیده

The current study outlines the potential of wild plant species (Pluchea dioscoridis (L.) DC.) for phytoremediation trace elements (TEs) such as Pb, Cd, Zn, Mn, and Cu at various contaminated locations: an industrial area (S1); a residential with high traffic load (S2); rural (S3). Data showed that photosynthetic pigments flavonoids decreased significantly S1, which TEs accumulated concentrations. This drop in chlorophyll concentration reflects foliar damage caused by TE contamination. carotenoids/chlorophyll index (Car/Chl) ratio non-significant variations all studied spheres. High values (a/b) were also recorded leaves faced stress. translocation factors (TF); enrichment coefficient root (ECR); shoot (ECS) varied clearly among well sites, proving ability to carry out Zn. highest metal accumulation (MAI) S1. Significant positive correlations pairs Cd Pb soil versus P. tissues indicated its usefulness phytoextraction strategy these elements. management areas should be exploiting natural this plant.

Phytoremediation potential of wild plants growing on soil contaminated with heavy metals.

Phytoremediation is an emerging technology that employs higher plants to cleanup contaminated environments, including metal-polluted soils. Because it produces a biomass rich in extracted toxic metals, further treatment of this biomass is necessary. The aim of our study was to assess the five-year potential of the following native wild plants to produce biomass and remove heavy metals from a po...

Effect of Rhizosphere Enzymes on Phytoremediation in PAH-Contaminated Soil Using Five Plant Species

A pot experiment was performed to study the effectiveness of remediation using different plant species and the enzyme response involved in remediating PAH-contaminated soil. The study indicated that species Echinacea purpurea, Festuca arundinacea Schred, Fire Phoenix (a combined F. arundinacea), and Medicago sativa L. possess the potential for remediation in PAH-contaminated soils. The study al...
